Clicking or opening the link can expose the computer system to malicious sites.

Worm attack can be prevented by observing the following tips:

  • Configure proper firewall for restricting network traffic.
  • Set the firewall program to cloak a computer from the internet network.
  • Emails should never be opened before a proper scan with an updated anti-virus program.
  • Keep antispyware or antivirus updated and scan the computer regularly.
  • Avoid responding to mail advertisement letters.
  • Emails containing government agencies or bank names in the sender information must never be opened.
